Born in New York, NY and raised in the suburbs of Philadelphia, PA, Steve Wilder Blumenthal grew up in an artistically vibrant household, where he was subjected to listening to anything from John Coltrane to contemporary Finnish folk rock music to obscure Beatles tunes by his mother, brother, and father. During his high school years, the family dog, a shetland sheepdog named Scarlett, also encouraged Steve to diversify his musical tastes and was arguably the driving force behind Steve's love of Ska music (primarily the third wave type).

After high school, Steve attended Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, PA, graduating with a B.A. in Music Composition. At Duquesne, he began using performance-based experimentation

through music technology. Using these techniques, Steve has scored several films including

Thanks for Playing Concentration, MegaRich, and, Ping (award-winning short directed by Jason Oshman).

Steve currently works and lives in Los Angeles, CA. Working with composer Nathan Lanier, Steve has written additional music for several motion pictures (examples below) as well as television commercials for some science and technology corporations.
